Who could know. Yesterday there was a news about former Vice President Dick Cheney being hospitalized at GWU Hospital. Seems he is doing alright already.
I remember when I used to work on the campus of Navy Medical Center in Bethesda a few years ago, once a year in Spring we had the whole campus secured. President of the United States was coming for his annual check up. Of course, he was coming by no other means than a helicopter.
I learned then that President was assigned to that medical facility in accordance with some protocols. If my memory serves me well, Vice President is assigned to Walter Reed Army Hospital. This assignment and particularly separation of facilities is apparently done for security purposes. Just like the residence of Vice President is located at the distance from the White House.
George Washington University Hospital
What I was wondering reading the headline, was whether George Washington University Hospital was Cheney’s assigned hospital as for the former Vice President, or he is using it as a private citizen. Just curious. Whichever way it is, I guess it’s an honor for the hospital and credit to its reputation, as well as for the hosting University, if it serves high-ranking officials, even if former.
