On Thursday I had my final exam in Macroeconomics. This officially marked closing of my Fall 2011 term of part-time MBA program at George Washington University School of Business. I have five weeks of winter break ahead! Unlike this time last year I am not going to disappear from the blog for over three months. Pinky promise ;-). I have a few posts lined up already and I am going to upload more of my business cases analyses from the past. I will also continue on building up the list of Best MBA Textbooks that I recently started. So once the MBA folks come back from their vacations, they will have some new stuff to look up on this site.
And this brings me to a little observation connected to the title of this post. You notice, the Business Schools are in plural. And the reason for this is that I am not talking just about my GWSB going on vacation. I experienced this global vacation recess in a very direct way by checking the traffic logs to this blog.
Right after the Thanksgiving weekend this blog experienced about 50% or more surge in daily traffic which lasted just until this past Wednesday. I was amazed and pleased. And the traffic increase did not have to do anything with the Cyber Monday or holiday shopping season underway. All this traffic was caused by the end of the fall term in business schools across the world when many written assignments were due for submission. That’s right – almost all of the traffic surge was caused by visits to various Business Cases Analyses in Business School Cases section of the blog. And then on Thursday this week the visits to the blog just dropped so precipitously that I was amazed once again. It felt like a hangover after a binge. And all of that traffic drop was again due to drop in Business Cases section traffic. Moreover, the traffic did not just reverted to regular pre-surge levels. It is actually somewhat lower than regular visits during the Business School term. This is how I know that Business Schools MBA students are indeed on a winter break.
Now, with the Fall term behind, I can actually relax and get the feel for the season and fully appreciate all its joys for myself. With that said, Happy Holidays to everyone!
